I underestimated how difficult making this podcast was going to be. I have experience working with music programs since one of my closest friends is a producer, which made me think this was going to be a lot easier than it was. My biggest mistake was waiting until the last minute to get this project done. The most difficult part of creating this podcast might have been splicing the first song and getting it to sound well together. I started with one song that was too hard to splice because wherever I split the track it never matched up. After that I ended up using another song that was much easier to splice. From there I did the voice recording which took me at least 10 takes to get right, and I’m not too happy with that portion of the podcast, but I am happy with the overall body of work. I know that I can produce a better finished product than the one I have and in the future just for entertainment purposes I may create another podcast. Being that I am a Communication major, there may be plenty of opportunities that I will have to create podcasts or using garage band to create an audio file. However, I may use my new skills to create personal mixes with songs and voice recordings just to play with, especially since I plan on continuing to use this blog in the future. The more practice I have using garage band the better I will get, once I feel my skills are up to par I will create another podcast for this blog.

  1. I think your commercial came out very good. Based off how it sounds, I would never know you had trouble using the program. It is great that you plan to continuously use this blog. Learning all the features of GarageBand will be very helpful for future podcasts. Overall, I think your commercial sounds great. You did a really good job with the crossfade feature as well.

    • I think your commercial came out good! Especially for doing in last minute, because these programs aren’t the easiest to work in. I like the way you spliced the songs together underneath your voice over. It makes the transition between the two songs really seamless. One thing I think that could help the commercial is maybe putting less of the first song in front of your voice over so that there’s more you and less song. But overall good job!

  2. I dont know where to comment on ur podcast so im guessing here i think u should have cut to you talking earlier because its a little long to have to wait, and i feel like it would have sounded better if u faded the second song in slower because right now its a drastic change from you speaking quietly to the second song. Or if ur speaking part was louder it would have masked it.

  3. Hey your podcast came out really great! I really like your song choices as well. The only thing I would maybe fix is to have your recorded voice volume be a little bit louder. I turned up my volume and then it got very loud after you spoke. Other than that, great job!
